Managua, Spring 2011: While the opposition protests President Daniel Ortega’s unconstitutional run for re-election, the latter seizes control over government institutions, courts and judges and terrorizes dissenters to reach his goal. Through unique archive footage the film at the same time tells the story of the same Ortega during the 70-ties led a bloody liberation struggle against a dictatorship, held in place by USA. This fight for freedom has now eroded to a cleptocracy, where power is the ticket to money, houses and businesses. International distribution: Filmmakers Library, New York. Bronze Palm Award, Mexico Int. Film Festival 2012.
